University of Pavia

Università degli Studi di Pavia

The University of Pavia (UNIPV) is one of the oldest universities in Europe and, today, is a Research University, offering a wide variety of Degree Courses, Doctorates, Post-graduate Schools, Specialization Courses and Masters. The University of Pavia enjoys a strong tradition of international student and teacher exchanges: bilateral agreements involve, among others, the historical universities of Coimbra, and many universities in Europe, the Middle East, the Mediterranean area, the United States of America, China and Japan, Africa and Latin America.

The University of Pavia has dedicated a portion of its international funds and human resources to developing countries through the establishment of the Centre for International Cooperation and Development that is committed to human development and institution and capacity building in developing countries and works to create an ever-growing network of international contacts. The majority of these activities are joint initiatives of the University of Pavia, the Institute for Advanced Studies (IUSS) and three Italian NGOs, Comitato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo dei Popoli (CISP), Cooperazione Internazionale (COOPI) and Volontariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo (VIS), in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the five organisations.
