Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”is the first school of higher education in Bulgaria and the largest and most prestigious educational and scientific centre offering 95 degree courses in humanities and sciences in 16 faculties. The research unit from Sofia University which participates in the EUPRHA project is the University Centre for Conflict Management and Organizational Research (UCCMOR) at the Department of Social, Work and Educational Psychology. UCCMOR was created on the basis of the American-Bulgarian Laboratory of Human Action Psychology founded by American and Bulgarian scientists in 1989.
Since 1989, UCCMOR has had rich history of research activity. The main fields of research are:conflict management; organizational behaviour; human resources management; social change and social identity; strategic management and organizational design; political processes management; business mediation and commercial negotiation; organizational effectiveness; leadership and styles; ethnic conflicts and migration processes; peace studies; international relations; political violence and terrorism; gender investigations; societies in transition; corporate culture; intercultural dialog; and globalization processes.
